第16回 AAF戯曲賞

AAF戯曲賞は上演を前提とした戯曲賞です！

AAF戯曲賞は昨年15周年を機に『戯曲とは何か？』という原点を見つめ直しリニューアルしました。昨年度は４名の審査員が応募作全114作品を全て読み、延べ10時間に及ぶ3回の審査会での議論の末、『みちゆき』が大賞に選出されました。同作品は今年9月に愛知県芸術劇場小ホールで上演されます。 劇場が主催する「上演を前提とした戯曲賞」であるこの戯曲賞は、出会いの場です。作家と演出家・作品と観客が出会い、新しい価値観を作り出す場でありたいと願っています。 演劇の可能性に挑戦する‘戯曲とは何か？’。 皆様からのご応募を心からお待ちしています。

「第16回AAF戯曲賞」に多数のご応募をいただき、ありがとうございました。
去る9月13日に一次審査会が行われ、13作品（応募総数：91作品）が通過いたしましたのでお知らせします。

?Tada-Hengsapkul

篠田千明（演出家、作家） 1982年生まれ。2004年、多摩美術大学映像演劇学科の同級生らと快快(ex:小指値) を結成し、12年、脱退するまで中心メンバーとして所属する。10 年、代表作『My name is I LOVE YOU』がスイスの国際演劇祭チューリヒ・シアター・スペクタクルにて、日本人アーティストとしては初である最優秀賞 ZKB Patronage Prize2010 を受賞。13年より、タイ・バンコク在住。

【篠田千明からのコメント】
今年も全員で全部読みます。
まだ一作めが上演されてないから、応募する方としては躊躇するかもしれない。でもいま上演への過程がはじまってるなかで、やっぱこの賞おもしろいなあ、と思ってます。
これやりたい、とおもえるかどうかで選ぶので、まじ無理そうなのもお待ちしてますよ。


鳴海康平（「第七劇場」代表、演出家）1979 年生まれ。早稲田大学在籍中の99 年、劇団を設立。これまで国内20 都市、海外4 ヶ国6 都市（韓国・ドイツ・フランス・台湾）で作品を上演。2004 年ロシア、08年香港にて研修。12年から1 年間、ポーラ美術振興財団在外研修員としてフランスに滞在。14 年、三重県津市に拠点を移し、新劇場を開設。

【鳴海康平からのコメント】
巨大な物語は失われ、それぞれの物語が等しく一列に並ぶ現在に刺さるテキストは、ドラマは何なのか。昨年もワクワクする出会いがありましたが、今年も、これまで、今、そしてこれからのテキストとドラマの可能性を更新する刺激的な出会いがあることを願っています。


羊屋白玉（演出家、劇作家、俳優、「指輪ホテル」芸術監督） 「指輪ホテル」芸術監督。 劇作家、演出家、俳優。 1967 年生まれ。06 年、ニューズウイーク日本誌において「世界が認めた日本人女性 100 人」の一人に選ばれる。近年も、日本各地の芸術祭で、海や列車やトンネルなどサイトスペシフィックな演劇作品を発表するかたわら、14 年よりアーツカウンシル東京にて「東京スープとブランケット紀行」始動。15年よりアジア女性舞台芸術会議（亜女会）を設立し、ますます、自分が何者かよくわからなくなっています。

昨年、上演台本で応募した方に多く見られたのは、指示書のような、情報の集積のような、すっきりまとまった戯曲で、どこか漂白されている印象がありました。
今年は、鬱然とした言葉の森に誘われたいです。


三浦基（「地点」代表、演出家） 1973年生まれ。99年より2年間、文化庁派遣芸術家在外研修員としてパリに滞在する。2001年帰国、地点の活動を本格化。05年、京都へ拠点を移す。著書に『おもしろければOKか? 現代演劇考』（五柳書院）。10年度京都府文化賞奨励賞受賞。11年度京都市芸術新人賞受賞。13年、本拠地京都にアトリエ「アンダースロー」をオープン。

【三浦基からのコメント】
何を言いたくないのか。
言いたいことを捏造するよりも、何を言いたくないのか、ということに向き合う必要がある気がしています。でも決して黙らない。そんな演劇が私たちには必要です。「私たち」なんて、簡単には言いたくないんですが、少なくとも私は、あなたの言葉をそのように読みたいと思っています。よろしく。

① あなたの考える演劇上演のためのテキストであること（外国語のテキストの場合は作者本人の責任による日本語翻訳を添付してください）。
② 既発表・既上演作品も応募できます（他戯曲賞への応募歴がある作品は応募できません）
③ 作品点数は一人1点に限ります。
④ 応募作品は書式自由、ただし、A4用紙200枚程度まで。

【受賞作品について】（受賞者対象）
  • 受賞作の著作権は、作者に帰属します。
    ただし、大賞受賞作品について、公益財団法人愛知県文化振興事業団（以下、「事業団」という。）が戯曲賞受賞記念公演（以下、「記念公演」という。）を行う場合に限り、次の目的・態様で使用することを許諾していただきます。
    • ① 事業団が主催する記念公演での上演
    • ② 事業団が主催する記念公演に関連するワークショップ等でのテキストの使用
    • ③ 事業団が戯曲を広報するための印刷物やWebサイト等での利用
    なお、①の上演料については別途協議、②・③の使用料については無償とします。また、上記の事項以外に新たな事項が生じた場合は別途協議するものとします。
  • 上演は平成29年秋、愛知県芸術劇場小ホールを予定しています。
  • 上演方法は愛知県芸術劇場プロデュース公演とし、演出家・出演者その他公演内容は審査員・作者と協議の上、当劇場が決定します。
  • 上演に際して、作者同意の上、作品を改変・翻案する場合があります。
  • 受賞記念公演終了後その記録映像を作成し、愛知芸術文化センター内アートライブラリー、マルチビジョン、Webサイト等で放映する場合があります。

Requirements
and conditions		 (1)Submission must be a script to be performed on stage ( When the entry is originally written in non-Japanese, applicant must attach a Japanese translation of the text at the applicant’s cost)
(2)Previously performed on stage, or published script is applicable. (The script which previously submitted for other competition is NOT applicable.)
(3)One entry per applicant.
(4)No set format for the script. A4 size paper up to approx. 200 pages.

(1)Application form, (2)Cover page (Title and applicant’s name must be written), (3)Outline of the script (A4 size paper 1 page, no set format),and (4) Script.

* Entry script:
Print on white A4 size paper or PDF file for A4 size paper printing (no set format, up to approx. 200 pages)
Hard copy, print out:
5 sets of submission items (the script must be stapled or bound)
Soft copy:
Application form and a CD-R with a cover page, outline, script (PDF) in an envelop. (Please make sure there is no garbled letters when the files are opened with Windows OS)

Method of jury After the application due, primary and secondary jury session will take place. Announcements of 1 Drama Award and 1 Special Award are made at the open jury session on December 11(Sun), 2016.
(The primary and secondary jury session results are will be announced on the website of Aichi Arts Foundation. The jury session processes will be reported and disclosed on the website. The open jury session is planned to be broadcasted through internet.)

Remarks
About the entry script
  • The third party copyright, rights for privacy or credit, and publicity right must NOT be violated.
  • When adaption is made for the entry, include the original author’s name and its title. When the manuscript includes the other drama, novel, film or poem quotation , indicate the name of original work and underline the quotation part. Applicant is agree (1) to duplicate manuscript for screening, (2) to print or publish for publicity purposes, and (3) Aichi Arts Foundation store as an archive piece.
Regarding personal information
  • Applicant's name (nom de plume), age, location and personal background may appear on the website, newsletter or open jury session flier as a part of screening process.
  • The photos of open jury session and award ceremony may be published on Aichi Arts Foundation news letter, website or newspaper.
Awarded piece
  • The copy right of awarded piece attribute to the original author (writer).
    However, when Drama Award piece is performed by Aichi Arts Foundation (AAF), the author must agree and permit following items.
    • (1)The author must permit AAF to perform the Drama Award piece.
    • (2) The author must permit AAF to use the text for workshop to promote the performance.
    • (3) The author must permit AAF to use printed material or data for website to promote the script for public relation purposes.
    Fee of (1) is going to be discussed separately. Fees of (2) and (3) to be free of charge. When question items to be arose after the decision, AAF and the author will discuss separately.
  • Awarded piece is planned to be performed in the autumn of 2017, at Mini Theater in Aichi Art Center.
  • When the awarded piece is to be adapted and performed, upon agreement with the author and AAF, some changes may be made.
  • After the performance, the video is going to be prepared for the documentary purpose and there is a chance of the expert of the performance to be displayed on the multi vision screen of Aichi Arts Center B2F, or website.
Others
  • After the submission, no revise or change to be made.
  • No responses for inquiry of screening processes to be made.
  • When the violation of items above, insufficient process of copy right, plagiarism, or closely resemble other script is found, disqualification of the winner is to be announced.
  • Submitted items are not returned to the applicants.

Chiharu Shinoda (Director/author) Born in 1982. In 2004, formed faifai/ex with classmates of visual theatrical art department of Tama Art University. Shinoda has played an important role of the group until 2012. In 2010, "My name is I LOVE YOU" was performed in Zurich Theater Spectacle as a part of international theater festival program in Switzerland. Shinoda is the first Japanese winner of ZKB Patronage Prize 2010. Resident of Bangkok, Thailand, since 2013.

All script will be read by all juries.
Applicants may feel hesitant because of the script has never been performed on stage. However, the process of performing is already started at this point. This award is interesting from that aspect. Jury members will select the script which to be realized on stage. Challenging script is welcoming.


Kohei Narumi(Artistic Director of Dianagekijo, director) Born in 1979. Narumi creates works showing dramatic effects as the experienced sight, re-structuring views of the world described in the text with solitude and exhausted humanity. His works were performed in 20 cities in Japan, 6 cities in 4 countries oversea (South Korea, Germany, France and Taiwan). Recipient the grant of Pola Art Foundation to reside in France, 2012-2013. Narumi launched his own theatre "Theatre de Belleville" in Tsu, Mie prefecture in 2014.

What is drama after saga was lost, and each story is evenly placed, so the text penetrates the present. Juries encountered exciting scripts last year. We expect challenging scripts to renew the possibility of drama this year, too.


Shirotama Hitujiya(Artistic director of "Yubiwa Hotel", playwright, director, and actor) Artistic director of "Yubiwa Hotel", playwright, director and actor. Born in 1967. In 2006, Newsweek Japan selected Hitsujiya as one of the "100 Japanese women the world recognizes". Recently, her site specific theatrical works were presented in art festivals in Japan. In 2014, she launched "Tokyo, Soup, Blanket and Travelogue" at Arts Council Tokyo. In 2015, founded "Asian Women Performing Arts Collective". www.yubiwahotel.com

Last year's entries were more like instruction or accumulation of data. They were clear scripts and gave an impression of bleached text. More wordy and dense text is expected this year.


Motoi Miura (Representative of "Chiten", Director) Born in 1973. Miura had dispatched as a trainee to Paris by Agency of Cultural Affairs for two years from 1990. After return to Japan in 2001, Miura actively involves to "Chiten". Miura stationed in Kyoto in 2005. Published a book "Is just being interesting OK?" (Goryu-syoin) In 2010, Miura won Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Prize, Encouragement Award. In 2011, Miura also received the Kyoto Municipal Rookie Artist Award. He opened the studio "Under throw" in Kyoto, in 2013.

What is not to be said.
Instead of falsify what one wants to say, it is important to confront what is not to be said. However, never keep silence. These type of drama is necessary for us. I just summarized in one word, “us” though, at least, I would like to read your words as they are.

'AAF Drama Award' is the script competition to be staged.
AAF Drama Award marked its 15th anniversary last year, and reviewed the foundation, "What is the playwright?" and revised the process of competition. Last year, 4 juries read all the entries, 114 works. 3 screening sessions took place which is approximately 10 hour session total. Drama Award was given to "Michiyuki". The script will be performed in September this year at Mini Theater of Aichi Prefectural Art Theater.
The script competition to be staged and hosted by the theatre is the venue for interaction. Author, director and audience encounter each other and create new value through the experience. "What is the playwright?" the question to challenge the possibility of drama is the essence of this competition.
